Costa Rica is a world-renowned adventure land. Wild jungle trails, exotic plants, rare animals – there is so much to see that tourists are often at a loss over how to fit everything in one vacation. One of the best ways to see Costa Rica are horseback riding tours. What is really great about them is that you can spend an entire day outdoors, breathing fresh air and soaking in the sun, and at the same time catch up on sightseeing. Horseback riding in the Costa Rican mountains gives you a fascinating panorama view on the ocean and beautiful local nature that is guaranteed to take your breath away.
It doesn’t matter if you are an experienced rider or a beginner – our skillful instructors will help you get in the saddle and explain how to control and direct your horse. We use only calm, well-trained, friendly animals that are absolutely safe and reliable. Traveling with kids? No problem! We will customize the program for different endurance levels. Horse riding trips are the perfect activity for a family vacation or a corporate team-building event.
Each saddle comes with a bag where you can pack everything you might need for a few-hour ride: a bug repellent, sunscreen with high SPF, a camera, a phone, some water, a map, and, of course, some hay and a few carrots for your lovely animal companion. Make sure you don’t forget to put on comfortable shoes and a sun hat to protect your head from the high heat.
Each group is accompanied by an experienced bilingual guide who is always ready to answer your questions and tell you all about the rich biodiversity of Costa Rica. Local wild animals are not easily scared by horses and people which means that you have a real chance to see the jungle dwellers in their natural habitat. We will go at a slow pace so that you can take a good look around, take pictures, and enjoy the breathtaking view. Horseback riding in Costa Rica is a once in a lifetime opportunity!
Some people view horses merely as a transport to carry them from one point to another. However, interacting with these noble animals brings more physical, mental, and spiritual benefits that you might think.
Riding may look effortless, but there is a lot of work that goes into it. Horseback riding uses many different muscle groups, developing strength, balance, and coordination. What is more, riding burns around 5 calories per minute.
It takes a lot of concentration to learn how to stay in the saddle and steer the horse in the right direction. This means that you will exercise your brain as well as your muscles.
Steering a horse is not just about pulling the reins. You also need to form an emotional and spiritual connection with your animal to make it trust you and your directions. Horseback riding is very therapeutic; it brings harmony and a lot of fun.
Don’t hold your horses anymore! If you are ready to embark on your first horse riding holidays, please contact us at +(506) 2639-8303 to book a trip.
